ten on tuesday

1. I don't realize how quickly time has gone until I look at a friends blog list and it says we haven't posted in 3 weeks. Sorry about that.

2. Peter and his rash have consumed my days and nights. Allergy test--negative. Next step--dermatologist. We saw him today. Apparently its a bad cases of atopic dermatitis--or just plain old ECZEMA. The doctor's suggestion--stop lotion--forever.. Vaseline and a $90 topical steroid are to be applied religiously.
3. Did I tell you Daniel is building me a window seat complete with cute baskets to hold our toys. It only took us three trips to Lowe's to actually cut and buy the wood.

4. Is it just me or are automated phone directories worse than getting a root canal. After trying to call four different companies and waiting at least 15 minute before I get to even talk to someone, and then needing to be transfer twice and on hold at least five more times---I think they should be destroyed.

5. Have you heard of Dave Ramsey? We are in the middle of Financial Peace University. Thankfully I've talked our 'saver' into a small BLOW budget every month. And our 'free spirit' has convinced me that my budget committee meetings are always too long and too frequent. So we are compromising.

6. We got our tax refund last week. Any guesses on how we are going to spend it?

7. We pulled out the sled for our snow day yesterday. Fun, fun, fun!
8. The girls and I are planning a Valentine Party for a few friends. Complete with games, crafts, decorations and donuts, it is sure to be a raving success.

9. Peter's new favorite food--anything--and a lot of it. He got a new seat to eat at and as soon as anything lands on it...it's on its way to his mouth. Poor kid is sure we are starving him. He is accepting any food rations.

10. So #6 is a trick question. When you have a saver such as our's in the house you don't spend tax returns--you save them.

rash attack

Poor Peter has had a rash all over his body for more than a week. We think milk is the culprit so he is on a week long Soy trial. We'll let you know how it goes.

two

Our Lydia is Two and she is telling everyone. All day on her birthday and every day since she has been singing "Happy Birthday to me!" everywhere we go. We love her sweet innocence and true joy in being a 'big' girl.Happy Birthday my little Song Bird...keep on singing!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Took Peter to the doctor last week for his 6 month well check. I was concerned about how irritable he had been over the past few nights and I was going to talk to the doctor about it. While sitting in the exam room I noticed something different in Peter’s mouth. Two teeth! Some mom I am huh?

2. Eliza has been really concerned all season on two topics. Who get Santa presents? & Why don’t we have a chimney? I think the idea of Mrs. Clause was very reassuring but she still thinks we should buy a chimney…coming in through the door just isn’t as festive.

3. My sister Heather gets home from her mission at 10:59pm tonight. We wish we could be there to welcome you home but this will have to do…WELCOME HOME!

4. The girls have loved our Christmas advent calendar. Each day is a piece to our magnet board nativity. Only two more left!

5. Last night Daniel and I got the crazy idea to rearrange our living room. It is a little tricky with only one phone outlet. But tonight we are going to try to rewire it to another side of the room….we’ll let you know how it goes.

6. We had a sweet family from our old ward over for cookie decorating last night. Then another family invited us to come over today to decorate more. The girls couldn’t believe their good fortune.

7. Sunday the girls opened their Christmas dresses from Gma Nan.

8. We have a few presents under the tree. Lydia’s favorite activity is to line them all up and jump from one to the next. Eliza’s horror only feeds Lydia’s excitement.

9. Finally put my sewing machine away Monday morning and give my word that I wouldn’t get it out again until after Christmas….yeah I should know better than to make such a foolish promise!

10. Merry Christmas everyone! We hope your holiday is magical!

Quote of the Day

Last night at dinner the girls were goofing off as usual. All of a sudden Liesel disappears with a thud. There was a moments pause and then we all started laughing. Liesel got back up on the bench while her dad asked; "What were you sitting on?"
Liesel: "Nothing."
