Wordless Wednesday

Ten on Tuesday--Trip to Idaho

1. Since we got back home a week and a half ago I have wanted to post but things have been crazy around here...so you get raw pictures that haven't been edited and just a few quick words of explanation.

2. Congratulations again to my sister Bekah and her husband Glen who were married on July 3 in the Twin Falls LDS Temple. It was a lovely day!

3. Sunday July 5th was a special day for our family. Our little Peter was given a name and blessing by his Dad. Thanks again to everyone who was able to be there. Also a big thanks to my mom for making Peter's blessing outfit!

4. After the wedding, Daniel had to go back to work but the kids and I stayed for two weeks at my parents house. The girls had a blast. We fed horses, picked raspberries, picked and canned cherries, played in the water, slipped on the slip'n slide and spent as much time on the swings as possible.

5. While at Grandma's house, Lydia had her first hair cut. She looks darling.

6. We loved the days at Grandma's house but the nights were a little rough. At least half of the nights we were there were spent cleaning up vomit or diarrhea from at least one of the girls. One morning I woke up thinking we were in the clear when I noticed Liesel wasn't in her bed. Poor grandma had been up with her without me even knowing. Sorry grandma!

7. The highlight of the trip for the girls was Cousin Camp. We spent two whole days with the cousins earning patches for our Camp Sawtooth Bandelo. We learned the camp song (so catchy that we still sing it), had a service project, climbed trees, learned how to throw a tea party or a Cougar football party, took the Cougar pledge, roasted marsh mellows, slid on the slip'n slide, rode 4-wheelers, had a hot wheels derby, had nail care, aerobics, snacks, a nature hike and more fun then ever before. Thanks again Aunt Nicole and Grandma and everyone else who helped.

8. Another fun surprise at cousin camp were the pajamas grandma made for all the cousins. Quite a lot of sewing to make 24 pairs of pajamas for all the grand kids. We were thinking about trying to have a great sleepover but then realized that with 20 of the grand kids 5 or younger, that might have to wait for another year.
9. After cousin camp we headed to Fish Lake in Utah for my mom's family reunion. It was fun to see all my cousins I hadn't seen in years and for the kids to play in the dirt again. Eliza had a great time hauling dirt around in her shirt and her fishing trip with Dad. Thanks to Uncle Jim for helping me get a new fishing pole for Daniel.

10. Over all the trip was fantastic. Here is to next year!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Peter is two weeks old today! He weighed in at 9 lbs 8 oz at the doctor today. That is 1 lb 4 oz bigger than a week and a half ago...so he is a good eater.

2. Is is 9pm right now and Daniel is just heading home from work...but luckily he sold a house today!

3. Did you know that a 50 cent soda pop and three foam cups can buy you at least 20 minutes of entertainment? It was worth every penny during our visit to the auto shop today.

4. Meet Peter's new little buddy. He doesn't have a name yet but he is the perfect friend to help Peter keep his head propped up in his car seat. He comes with us every where.
5. We took Eliza and Liesel to their yearly check up last week. They look fantastic and are growing like weeds. Both look to be at least as tall as me when they grow up.

6. The word is out that we have a boy at our house...people keep dropping in with clothes. What would we do without all of you? Thank you so much for your generosity. I even have a friend who is going to teach me to make ties...isn't that fabulous! I need all the help I can get with boy things.

7. QOTD: The doctor was asking Liesel questions at her yearly check up.

Doctor: Liesel what do we do when we are hungry?

Liesel: We clean up!

9. This weekend we are headed to Idaho for my sister's wedding. We are so excited for you Bekah and Glen. We can hardly wait for this big event.

Can you believe it? We have a BOY!

For the first hour after delivery I was so confused. What do I do with a boy? Well, we're about to find out. Daniel has been a bit protective of his little man. (Scout camp hasn't ever sounded so inviting!)

We love you Peter and are so happy you were brave enough to come to our house!

Sunday Summary--May in Review

We are still alive and well here in Colorado and still no baby which is a blessing and a struggle all in one.  But we had some great events happen this month.Grandma spent most of the month with us.  Poor woman thought she was never going to get home. But she was a lot of help and truly saved us through this time.  I think the highlight of her month was seeing Grandpa show up on our doorstep for Mother's Day.  It lifted her spirits and sustained her for two more weeks.

The girls have loved reading books, planting the garden, eating dirt, picking flowers, and all the other fun things you can do in the summer time.  The nicer weather has been fantastic!

Memorial Day was fun.  We took the girls to a wooded area and just let them explore.  They had a fantastic time.  Then Daniel set up a dinning fly and grill in the back yard to have a picnic and roast marsh mellows.  We missed the annual Family camp out but we're grateful for the taste of nature.

Now that my limitations on my physical activity have been lifted I have been looking for projects to keep me sane.  So this is the latest photo shoot.  Which ones do you like?  

May was great!  June looks to be busy with a new baby on the way and two other birthdays to celebrate.  Time to PARTY!  Happy June!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Thank you all for your comments, concerns, prayers, and phone calls. Grandma finally made it through the crazy snow storm with a flight cancellation and another flight delay. She practically froze to death getting here but I think we are finally warming her up.

2. I went to the doctor today. He was a little concerned with all the contractions I am still having and bumped up my medication. He was even more concerned about my mother going home on Friday and strictly told me I could sit on the couch and read stories for the girls or sit up to the table to eat but I shouldn't be doing more than that.

3. So after the doctor visit Grandma decided to stay a little longer. Poor women...she has to share a room with Lydia, do everything around the house, and walk to the grocery store nearly everyday. I hope she survives!!!

4. The highlight for the girls last week was the packages from Aunt Jennifer and Aunt Emily. They were filled with new books, balloons, animal plates (which we have been rationing), coloring books, etc. All the things that make staying at home all day with mom a little more tolerable. Thanks a million Jen and Em...you bought us some great time with your kindness.

5. Quote of the week comes from Liesel during family home evening. We were playing the game where you try to get people to smile. Daniel kept trying to get Liesel to smile but she was stone faced.
Daniel: "Don't smile Liesel....don't smile."
Liesel: (A little irritated) "I'M NOT SMILING!"
And indeed she wasn't.

6. The highlight of Daniel's week...HE FINISHED HIS NIGHT CLASS!

7. Snow...Snow...Snow...We have had more snow this past month that the rest of the winter combined. Living in a desert I can't complain because we need the moisture terribly.

8. I ordered the rest of my seeds for my garden. Hopefully Grandma and Daniel will be up for the planting. I am hoping to plant twice as many beans as last year and work to get a better strawberry crop. Let's cross our fingers on that one.

9. Grandma has been a machine since she has been here. We have freezer meals, clean laundry, spotless windows and an empty kitchen sink after every meal. She has also worked on a couple sewing projects for me...my favorite being the new bed skirt for my bed...WOW!

10. Daniel has been trying to be mom and dad...and I must say he has been amazing. He has played with the girls nearly every minute he is home and still manages to get groceries, finish projects, sell houses, and stay sane! I couldn't ask for a better spouse at a time like this. I love you Daniel!
