Ten on Tuesday

1. Thank you all for your comments, concerns, prayers, and phone calls. Grandma finally made it through the crazy snow storm with a flight cancellation and another flight delay. She practically froze to death getting here but I think we are finally warming her up.

2. I went to the doctor today. He was a little concerned with all the contractions I am still having and bumped up my medication. He was even more concerned about my mother going home on Friday and strictly told me I could sit on the couch and read stories for the girls or sit up to the table to eat but I shouldn't be doing more than that.

3. So after the doctor visit Grandma decided to stay a little longer. Poor women...she has to share a room with Lydia, do everything around the house, and walk to the grocery store nearly everyday. I hope she survives!!!

4. The highlight for the girls last week was the packages from Aunt Jennifer and Aunt Emily. They were filled with new books, balloons, animal plates (which we have been rationing), coloring books, etc. All the things that make staying at home all day with mom a little more tolerable. Thanks a million Jen and Em...you bought us some great time with your kindness.

5. Quote of the week comes from Liesel during family home evening. We were playing the game where you try to get people to smile. Daniel kept trying to get Liesel to smile but she was stone faced.
Daniel: "Don't smile Liesel....don't smile."
Liesel: (A little irritated) "I'M NOT SMILING!"
And indeed she wasn't.

6. The highlight of Daniel's week...HE FINISHED HIS NIGHT CLASS!

7. Snow...Snow...Snow...We have had more snow this past month that the rest of the winter combined. Living in a desert I can't complain because we need the moisture terribly.

8. I ordered the rest of my seeds for my garden. Hopefully Grandma and Daniel will be up for the planting. I am hoping to plant twice as many beans as last year and work to get a better strawberry crop. Let's cross our fingers on that one.

9. Grandma has been a machine since she has been here. We have freezer meals, clean laundry, spotless windows and an empty kitchen sink after every meal. She has also worked on a couple sewing projects for me...my favorite being the new bed skirt for my bed...WOW!

10. Daniel has been trying to be mom and dad...and I must say he has been amazing. He has played with the girls nearly every minute he is home and still manages to get groceries, finish projects, sell houses, and stay sane! I couldn't ask for a better spouse at a time like this. I love you Daniel!

Update

It is 4am and I've been awake for an hour. Lately I haven't been able to sleep well. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and am showing some signs of pre-term labor...contractions, lower back pain, pelvic pressure, nausea...needless to say I am not felling well. The doctor did a test called fetal fibernectin (FFN), the presence of a hormone around your cervix that increases the risk of pre-term labor especially in the next two weeks. And the results were positive (much to the surprise of my doctor). They gave me two shots of a steroid to speed up the babies lung development and I am suppose to "take it easy." Obviously with three little girls under the age of four that is a little tricky but the ladies from the ward are helping until my mom gets her Friday. Thanks again mom for coming, I can't believe how weak I have been lately (physically and emotionally).

Ten on Tuesday

1. Can't really understand my lack of enthusiasm for posting lately. It could be that we are cooped up inside all the time or that my camera lays idle so much of the time or that I am just lazy. Probably a combination of all of the above.
2. Lydia is sporting a nasty scar under her chin. She was trying to follow her sisters out into the garage and fell face first down the stairs onto the concrete. Tragically I have to take her to her 15 month well check tomorrow...hopefully there aren't any other signs that I am an abusive mother.
3. Finished my new maternity dress a couple of weeks ago. I love it even though the zipper is crooked and I have to wear a sweater over it. Somehow knowing I don't have 10 more weeks of Sacrament meetings with only one dress seems liberating.
4. Been working on the girls Easter dresses. Eliza and Liesel's are done but I have to redo Lydia's...her tummy is a little bigger than I thought.
5. We had our Easter Egg Hunt early this year so Dad could be home with us. The girls think that Easter Bunny is something else. Here are a few pics. 6. My latest pick from the Library was "River Secrets" by Shannon Hale. Loved it. I also just finished "Leadership and Self-Deception." A book my Father-in-law gave Daniel a while ago. I know the title sounds a little weird for a stay at home mom but I really enjoyed it and it really got me thinking about how I treat people around me. Highly Recommend it!
7. Daniel had two sales at work the past few days. What a blessing! He seems to be energized by the success.
8. I had another root canal last week. Poor tooth was completely dead and was just hanging on for me. Glad to have that done.
9. Loved General Conference this last weekend. The talks that struck me were President Eyring's and Elder Holland's. I feel so renewed for another six months.
10. Happy Easter Everyone! (We are especially thinking of you Em and your new addition coming any day...Good Luck!)

Sunday Spotlight

Meet the two new members of our family....
The is Mary the brown bear. Born March 18, 2009 and is 14 inches long and 9 oz. Liesel loves her new best friend. This is Fluffy. Born the same day as Mary and is 15 inches and 7 ounces. Eliza carries her everywhere.

We had a great time at Build-a-Bear on Dad's day off. The girls keep saying they want to go back. We made a great memory!

Have you missed us?

Wow this past few weeks have been pretty busy around here. I am so sorry to neglect all of you. I have a thousand excuses for my delay in posting...everything from the fact that is takes me about 10 minute to even open up my email on our super slow computer to all the projects I have been working on. I have crammed my schedule full of sewing dresses, making bread and jam, play dates and parties, painting, and the list goes on. But with out further delay...here is a quick recap of the passed month or so.

First we had a lovely visit from my friend Britney in February. Tragically I didn't get any good photos. But it was so fun to go the the Denver Children's Museum and Focus on the Family as well as party and just hang out. Thank you so much Brit for your visit! We had a blast.

Spring is in the air...so we have been enjoying the outdoors.

We had a quick visit to the emergency room this last month. Daniel woke up in extreme pain but now has some drugs to help with the kidney stones he has inherited.

We celebrated St Patrick's Day early with a party with our friends...we made leprechaun puppets. Here is the crew (minus Lydia and Preston).
